Campers engaged in hands-on experiences throughout this week. The girls learned to draw and construct models with local architects and engineers. There were several opportunities to put building skills to the test, including completing a service project with the Frenchtown Farmers Market.

Junior Leader campers visited the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, also known as the MagLab, which is home to the worlds largest magnet lab. The girls learned about how the magnets within the lab work and are made, and about the research conducted there.

This week’s service project involved helping the Frenchtown Farmers Market paint and build benches.

Our build projects included birdhouses, toy boats, and also utilizing creative thinking to problem solve building a sturdy structure using popsicle sticks and clothespins.

We have so much fun together that it’s bittersweet to see a week end. These amazing girls are dreaming big and doing big, and we’re glad to be a part of it. For Girls Can Build Anything Week and every day, we’re proud to shout: Girls can do ANYTHING!

Thank you to our sponsors Kia of Tallahassee and Hamilton Realty for making our camp possible!
