About The Oasis Center

Our mission, vision, and guiding principles, as well as our Oasis Founding Members. For our board of directors, team members, please see the links below.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to transform our community so all women and girls thrive.

We envision a world where everyone reaches their full potential.

Our History

In 2007, our founder Kelly Otte noticed a gap-there was no one organization focused on empowering and bringing together women and girls from all walks of life in our community.

The Oasis Center was created with the vision of being a diverse environment where women and girls from all walks of life are connected and empowered. Oasis aims to be the central resource meeting women where they are to equip them with the tools to reach their goals, and celebrate with them as they progress on their journey.

Our Values

Advocacy

We boldly advocate for women and girls and work to address the issues affecting their lives at home, work, school, and in our community.

Catalyst

We strive to be a catalyst for positive social change, igniting the spark that creates a better world.

Collaboration

w

We work together, side by side with women, girls, allies, and the organizations that serve them to address the myriad issues that affect their lives.

Empowerment

We believe that each woman or girl is the expert on her own experience and that women and girls have the right to self-determination.

Inclusion

Oasis strives to be a safe space for people from all walks of life who identify as a women or girls. We believe our strength lies in diversity.

Innovation

We develop and support innovative strategies to create a tomorrow that is brighter than today.

Integrity

We strive to be who we say we are, show up authentically, own our mistakes, and treat the time when we stumble as opportunities to be better.

Leadership

Women and girls are powerful. Oasis is a leader on issues affecting women and girls in our community. We elevate the visibility of women’s leadership and support the leadership of women and girls.

Sustainability

We operate using strategies that ensure Oasis is here to positively impact the lives of women and girls for years to come.

Our Seven Guiding Principles

Principle 1

We believe every individual, group, family, and community has strengths.

Principle 2

We believe the struggles and obstacles of life may be challening, but they may also be sources of strength and opportunity.

Principle 3

We believe in women’s capacity for change and growth; helping them to expand their hopes, visions, and aspirations.

Principle 4

We believe our work with women is a partnership, acknowledging the wisdom, insights, and understandings they bring with them.

Principle 5

We believe that every environment is full of resources.

Principle 6

We believe that caring for others and being cared for is a basic human right.

Principle 7

We seek to understand women in the context of their community, society, and culture and recognize the impact of these entities on the lives of women.

Thank you to these incredible leaders
